Notice of Combined Application for Acquisition of a Bank Holding Company and for the Merger of Banks
United Community Banks, Inc., a bank holding company with its headquarters and executive offices in Greenville, South Carolina ("UCBI"), and United Community Bank, Greenville, South Carolina, the subsidiary bank of UCBI, have applied to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System ("Federal Reserve Board") for permission for (a) UCBI to acquire another bank holding company, Peach State Bancshares, Inc., Gainesville, Georgia ("PSBI"), and thereby acquire control of PSBI's subsidiary bank, Peach State Bank & Trust, Gainesville, Georgia ("Peach State Bank"), and (b) United Community Bank to merge with Peach State Bank and establish branches at the locations of Peach State Bank. The Federal Reserve considers a number of factors in deciding whether to approve the application, including the record of performance of applicant banks in helping to meet local credit needs.
You are invited to submit comments in writing on this combined application to the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, P.O. Box 27622, Richmond, VA 23261. Comments can also be sent electronically to comments.applications@rich.frb.org. The comment period will not end before Friday, June 19, 2026 and may be somewhat longer.
