Notice of Discharge of Untreated Wastewater

Notice of Discharge of Untreated Wastewater Carolina Water Service of North Carolina (CWSNC), had an accidental discharge of an estimated 8,000 gallons of untreated wastewater from our collection system, located at 3754 Brevard Road at Shaw Creek in the Hunters Glen community in Horse Shoe, N.C., due to a broken sewer service line. The discharge was located by CWSNC personnel at approximately 10 a.m. on 09/05/2025. CWSNC secured a truck to pump and haul sewage to prevent further discharge. There was no apparent or observed fish kill or impact to the creek. The area was cleaned and water samples were collected and tested. Tests indicate the water to be safe.
