Notice of Hearing
Township of Jefferson
Please take notice that on the 26th day of January 2026 at 7:30 P.M., a hearing will be held before the Jefferson Township Land Use Board at the Municipal Building at 1033 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey for variance plan approval so as to permit the Applicants, Rita & Christopher Schiedlo to construct an 8 foot addition to the existing single-family residence across the rear of their property to extend the primary bedroom and bathroom on the premises located at 12 Benedict Drive, Lake Hopatcong and designated as Block 141 Lot 3 on the Jefferson Township Tax Map.
The Applicants will request the following variances:
1. Variance from Section 490-11.E(4) building coverage of 28.2% where a maximum building coverage of 20% allowed;
2. Variance from Section 490-11.E(4) impervious coverage of 54.8% where a maximum impervious coverage of 30% is allowed;
3 Variance from Section 490-11.E(4) rear yard setback of 26.3 ft to the proposed deck where a minimum rear yard set back of 35 ft is required.
Applicants seek any other variances that may be deemed necessary at the time of the hearing.
Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard. A file on said application is available to the public on the Jefferson Township website and at the Municipal Building at the office of the Board Secretary.
Further take notice that said Land Use Board may at its discretion, adjourn, postpone, or continue the said hearings from time to time, and you are hereby notified that you should make diligent inquiry of the Land Use Board Secretary concerning such adjournments, postponements, or continuations.
