Notice of Pending Application for Proposed Breakwater Structures Bruce Loberg on behalf of Butte des Morts Conservation Club, PO Box 385, Butte des Marts , Wl, 54927, and Angela Cozzola on behalf of the Wis. Dept. of Natural Resources, 925 County Rd Y, Oshkosh Wl 54901, have co-applied to the Department of Natural Resources for a permit to construct breakwater structures (also called "miscellaneous structures") on the bed of Lake Buttedes Marts in NE 1/4, NE 1/4, Section 02, Township 18N, Range 15E in Town ofOmro, Winnebago County. The proposed project is to construct a series of breakwater structure segments as a continuation of recently constructed segments 6-10. The proposed project is to construct segments 1 -5 as well as segment 11 to complete the overall plan for the breakwater structure in Samer's Bay. The segments to be constructed range from 485 to 500 ft in length. The segments will be constructed to a height approximately 2ft above the average summer pool elevation of 746.6ft. There will be a 35ft wide opening between segments and a 50ft opening between Segment 1 and the shoreline. Structures will have reflectors during construction which is planned to take place on the ice during frozen winter conditions. The Department will review the proposal provided by the applicant and any information from public comments and the public informational hearing. The Department will determine whether the proposal complies with ss. 1.11, 30.12 and Ch 30.208, Wis. Stats., and ch. NR 150, Wis. Adm. Code. The Department has made a tentative determination that it will issue the permit for the proposed activity. If no hearing is requested, the Department may issue its decision without a hearing. If a public informational hearing is held, comments must be postmarked no later than 10 days following the date on which the hearing is completed.
