Notice of Pending Application for Proposed Dredging Tom Connor, Burger Boat Company, 1811 Spring St, Manitowoc, WI 54220 has applied to the Department of Natural Resources for a permit to Dredging. The project is located on Manitowoc River in SW 1/4, SE 1/4, Section 19 Township 19N, Range 24E located in City of Manitowoc, Manitowoc County. The applicant proposes to remove 11,500 cubic yards of material from the river bed to achieve the necessary area to moor the yachts. The dredging will extend into the Federal Navigational channel. The dredging will be performed using an environmentally sealed clamshell bucket that will remove the sediment to the design depths. The Department will review the proposal provided by the applicant and any information from public comments and the public informational hearing. The Department will determine whether the proposal complies with ss. 1.11 30.20, Wis Stats, and ch. NR 150, Wts. Adm. Code. The Department has made a tentative determination that it will issue the permit for the proposed activity. A request for hearing must include the docket number or applicant name and specify the issues that the party desires to be addressed at the informational hearing. If no hearing is requested, the Department may issue its decision without a hearing. If a public informational hearing is held, comments must be postmarked no later than 10 days following the date on which the hearing is completed.
