NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
IN THE MATTER OF STATE AND FEDERAL AID
FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS AT
Appleton International Airport
Appleton, Wisconsin
The County of Outagamie is considering petitioning the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation, for state and federal aid to undertake the following development at the Appleton International Airport: Construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, modification to airfield pavements, landside pavements, general infrastructure which may include land acquisition, utilities and associated work; Construct, reconstruct runway and taxiway systems; Construct, reconstruct, modify transient and terminal apron to support airport growth and development, correct non-standard taxiway geometric configurations, including drainage and utility relocation/expansion; Construct, reconstruct, rehab airport infrastructure including Airport Improvement Program (AIP) eligible and ineligible projects such as parking lots, parking structures, perimeter/service roads, airport access ways, and navigation equipment access ways; Construct, reconstruct, modify and expand airport buildings, hangars and structures, expand airside and landside AIP eligible and ineligible buildings, hangars and structures; construct, reconstruct, modify and expand airport terminal and associated infrastructure for both AIP eligible and ineligible portion; construct, modify airport sustainability program including initiatives that may include solar panels, HVAC equipment, lighting, lighting controls, electric car chargers, evaluating green technology, and microgrids; upgrade, expand, modify, remediate airport fuel system, this may include expanding capacity of airport fuel system, remediating and closing down older fuel system and/or modifying or upgrading fuel revenue control system.
Notice is hereby given that Outagamie County will hold a public hearing at 4:45 PM on December 9, 2025 in the Outagamie County Board Room., 320 South Walnut Street, Appleton, WI 54911
All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views on the need for the proposed airport development.
Parking for people with disabilities and an accessible entrance are available.
Please call the County Clerk's office at 920-832-5077 at least 24 hours in advance of the hearing to make specific accessibility requests.
