A public hearing will be held by the Des Moines Airport Authority Board on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications, estimated total cost, and form of contract) for the construction of the above referenced public improvements on file in the Director of Engineering and Planning Office at its meeting on April 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in the Board Room, 2nd Floor, Des Moines International Airport, 5800 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA 50321. At said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements. The Des Moines Airport Authority Board meetings are open to all individuals regardless of disability. To better serve you, please notify the Staff Assistant Secretary at (515) 256-5100 at least three business days in advance, when possible, should special accommodations be required.

The Work generally consists of:
Pavement Removals
Grading, Subgrade Preparation, and Modified Subbase
PCC and HMA Pavement
Curb and Gutter
Sidewalk and ADA Compliant Ramps
Storm Sewer Structures and Pipe
Pavement Markings
Relocation of existing Concrete Temporary Barrier Rails
Chain Link and Wire Cable Fencing
Traffic Control
Restoration and Seeding
Construction Staking
Parking Lot Lighting Improvements
Electrical and Communication Utility Installation
The work shall be performed just east and south of the existing Terminal, along Terminal Way and Duck Pond Road.
The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the Work is between $575,000 and $640,000.
