NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town of Poughkeepsie Planning Board on July 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.
This meeting will include an application, submitted by IBM Corp, Applicant and Owner, seeking coastal consistency review, site plan review, and architectural review for the construction of four (4) new buildings to expand IBM's Quantum computer manufacturing and assembly operations at IBM's existing campus on South Road. The four (4) new buildings would be primarily constructed on the +/- 169,050 square foot footprint of two (2) demolished buildings and in an unused parking lot and would include: one (1) +/- 233,700 square foot quantum facility building with a +/- 45,000 square foot mezzanine, two (2) +/- 8,000 square foot utility buildings, and one (1) +/- 18,000 square foot generator building. Construction also includes +/- 45,819 square feet of interior improvements to an existing building, bringing the new construction total to +/- 358,519 square feet. Overall, the project would increase the footprint of buildings on the IBM campus by +/- 86,700 square feet. Additional project improvements include those relating to parking, drive aisles, utilities, landscaping, and lighting. This application involves tax lot number 6060-04-840280, located at 2455 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. The parcel is in the Heavy Industrial (I-H) Zoning District and Waterfront District 2 (WD2) Zoning District.
During the public hearing, all who wish to speak will be heard. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, with the public, applicants and consultants able to participate in person at Town Hall, 1 Overocker Road, Poughkeepsie, or remotely via Zoom videoconferencing and via telephone. A copy of this application is on file in the Planning Department and is available for inspection. The Planning Department is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A copy of this application will also be available on the Town's website at https://www.townofpoughkeepsie-ny.gov/AgendaCenter by the Tuesday before the meeting.
