Notification of Environmental Investigation and Cleanup Site: 95 Central Avenue 95 Central Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 (Block 82.01, Lot 1.011) NJDEP Program Interest #738190 In accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) N.J.A.C. 7:26C-1.7(l)3 regulations for "Notification and Public Outreach", 95 Central Avenue is required to publish a fact sheet in a newspaper following identification of off-site contamination. Chlorinated Volatile Organic Compounds (CVOCs) were detected in groundwater at 95 Central Avenue, Metuchen, NJ which triggered a Remedial Investigation. During the groundwater delineation process, sampling identified Tetrachloroethene (PCE), Trichloroethene (TCE), Vinyl Chloride, and 1,2-dichloroethene contamination in groundwater has migrated offsite. Groundwater is delineated and the Remedial Investigation is complete. 95 Central Avenue is conducting investigative and remedial activities in accordance with the requirements of the NJDEP to address the chemical contaminants detected. The party conducting the remediation will ensure there are no environmental, ecological, or human impacts to offsite receptors. A potable well search was conducted in the vicinity of the Site boundaries. The well search did not yield any potable wells in the vicinity of the site. Regional potable water is supplied Middlesex Water Company. The current risk of CVOCs originating from the Site and entering surrounding water utility connections is low.
