In accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) regulations for "Notification and Public Outreach", Cumberland Farms, Inc. (CFI), is required to provide information relating to environmental conditions and remedial activities being conducted at the above referenced site.
Environmental investigation activities began in 2017 and have since identified contaminants of concern, specifically volatile organic compounds (VOCs), in soil and ground water at concentrations above applicable standards. Off-site migration of contaminants within ground water and impact to an off-site private potable well is being investigated. The impacts to the potable well have been mitigated. The remedial investigation activities are expected to be initiated in July 2026, but may be subject to access of off-Site properties and local permit approvals. All investigation and remediation will completed in accordance with the requirements of the NJDEP.
