PUBLIC HEARING
Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee
Notice is hereby given that the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee will hold a public hearing at or shortly after 1:30 P.M. on May 4, 2026 in its Board Room located at 809 North Broadway, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The purpose of this hearing will be to consider a Project Plan for the creation of Tax Incremental Financing District No. 133 (2711 West Wells). The Project Plan is proposed to support the adaptive reuse of a former hospital building into 124 affordable rental housing units offered to elderly families earning between 30 to 80 percent of area median income with 14 units set aside for veterans and 18 units designated as supportive housing in the City's Near West Side neighborhood and located at 2711 West Wells, 2805 West Wells Street, and 763 North 28th Street. Project costs for the Tax Incremental District are estimated at an amount not to exceed $2,600,000 and will be advanced by the development partnership and recovered from annual cash grants from future tax incremental revenue generated in the District. The total estimated cost for the project is $50.7 million.
At the public hearing, all interested parties will be afforded reasonable opportunity to express their views regarding the Project Plan. The hearing shall only be for the purpose of assisting the Authority in making its determination as to whether the Project Plan is consistent with the goals and objectives of the district, and in submitting its recommendation to the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee.
The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee meeting will be hybrid, with in-person and virtual options available. Individuals wishing to provide testimony related to this matter are encouraged to do so via the following methods:

A copy of the Project Plan for the District will be provided for examination upon request to the Department of City Development, 809 North Broadway, Milwaukee during its regular hours (8:00 A.M. – 4:45 P.M.) and will also be available at the hearing.
