OPPORTUNITY TO COMMENT – Cala-Wiley Project (67995) Willamette National Forest, Sweet Home Ranger District
The Forest Service is seeking comments on the Cala-Wiley Environmental Assessment (EA). The EA and supporting documents can be found on the Willamette National Forest's project website at https://www.fs.usda.gov/r06/willamette/projects/67995. The Sweet Home Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest proposes to improve upland stand growth, diversity, and structure; improve structural diversity and complexity of riparian vegetation to control stocking and accelerate attainment of the Aquatic Conservation Strategy Objectives; and support local economies with forest products through commercial harvest on about 899 acres by thinning of plantation stands between 30 and 63 years old. This treatment would include about 92 miles of pre-haul road maintenance, about 274 acres of upland Riparian Reserve thinning, and post-harvest fuels reduction.
