ORDINANCE 2025 - 02 ANNUAL BUDGET AND APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING THE FIRST DAY OF JULY 2025 AND ENDING THE 30TH DAY OF JUNE 2026 WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees of the Forrest Public Library District, in the County of Livingston, State of Illinois, has prepared a tentative form of the Annual Budget and Appropriation for the Public Library District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026. The tentative Ordinance has been conveniently available for public inspection for at least thirty (30) days prior to final action thereon; and WHEREAS, the Forrest Public Library District held a public hearing on the Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance on July 28, 2025. That hearing was held only after the Library posted public notice in a paper of general circulation in the Library District at least thirty (30) days prior to the hearing as required by law; and WHEREAS, The Forrest Public Library District complied with all other legal requirements prior to voting on the Budget and Appropriations Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE FORREST PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT, IN THE COUNTY OF LIVINGSTON AND STATE OF ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the following sums, or so much thereof as by law may be authorized, are budgeted, and appropriated for the specified Library Purposes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026. The objects and purposes of the appropriations and the exact amounts appropriated are as follows: FOR CORPORATE PURPOSES [75 ILCS 16/35-5]: 1. For salaries $105,000.00 2. For maintenance of equipment $8,000.00 3. For legal services $4,000.00 4. For postage $2,000.00 5. For telephone $4,600.00 6. For publishing $600.00 7. For Internet Access $1,000.00 8. Section 4: The Secretary of the Forrest Public Library District is hereby authorized and directed to have this Ordinance published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation within this library district. Section 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
