ORDINANCE AMENDMENT Notice is hereby given that the Washington County Planning Commission will hold a public input meeting on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Washington County Administrative Complex, 100 W Washington Street, Room 2000, Hagerstown, MD. The public meeting is for the purpose of considering amendments to the text of the Washington County Forest Conservation Ordinance. The intent of these amendments is to bring Washington County into compliance with legislation recently adopted by the State of Maryland (SB 256) and to provide clarification of existing regulations currently found in the Ordinance to meet the intent of Maryland's Forest Conservation Act. All parties in interest and citizens, either in support of or in opposition to, the proposed amendments shall have the opportunity to be heard at said place and time or by submitting written comments through e-mail at askplanning@washco-md.net or through regular postal service at 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. All written comments must be received prior to 2 pm on May 29, 2026. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review at www.washco-md.net/planning-zoning.
