ORDINANCE NO. 1142 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF JOHNSTON REVISED ORDINANCES OF 2007, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 92 WATER, SECTION 92.02 RATES FOR SERVICE BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Johnston, Iowa: SECTION 1. The "Code of Ordinances" of the City of Johnston, Iowa, is hereby amended by deleting in its entirety Section 92.02 and the following section is substituted in lieu thereof: 92.02 RATES FOR SERVICE. Water service shall be furnished at the following monthly rates within the City: 1. Water Service Availability fee per month: July 1, 2020 $10.56 January 1, 2026 $11.09 July 1, 2026 $11.64 July 1, 2027 $12.22 July 1, 2028 $12.83 July 1, 2029 $13.47 July 1, 2030 $14.14 2. Regular Water Usage. Usage per 1,000 gallons per month at: July 1, 2020 $7.85 January 1, 2026 $8.24 July 1, 2026 $8.65 July 1, 2027 $9.08 July 1, 2028 $9.53 July 1, 2029 $10.01 July 1, 2030 $10.51 3. Irrigation Water Service Availability Fee per month: July 1, 2020 $6.22 January 1, 2026 $6.53 July 1, 2026 $6.86 July 1, 2027 $7.20 July 1, 2028 $7.56 July 1, 2029 $7.94 July 1, 2030 $8.34 4. Irrigation Water Usage. Water used for irrigation purposes shall be furnished at the following rate per 1,000 gallons per month: July 1, 2020 $9.83 January 1, 2026 $10.32 July 1, 2026 $10.84 July 1, 2027 $11.38 July 1, 2028 $11.95 July 1, 2029 $12.55 July 1, 2030 $13.18 SECTION 2. REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from an after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
