LOUIS M. GROEN NATURE PRESERVE
BID TO HARVEST 60-ACRE HIGH GRADE ALFALFA FIELD
(First and Second Cutting Only)
1. Bid to harvest 60-acre high-grade alfalfa field located at M-32 and Gingell Road for the summer of 2026, first and second cutting only. Inspection of field can be arranged by contacting Roger Latuszek, Louis M. Groen Preserve Director, at 989.350.6626.
2. Insurance requirements are as follows:
Contractor shall furnish a Certificate of Insurance from an insurance company licensed to do business in the State of Michigan and acceptable to the County for the following:
a. Workers Compensation and Employers' Liability, Michigan Statutory Limits of Liability
b. Commercial General Liability Insurance
c. Motor Vehicle Liability Coverage and Michigan No-Fault Coverages including all owned, non-owned, and hired vehicles
Otsego County will be named as Additional Insured on all insurance coverage, with the exception of Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability insurance.
Limits of Liability for General Liability and Vehicle Liability shall be within the following guidelines based on the contract amount:
• Projects up to $750,000: Minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate
• A Waiver of Subrogation is required on the certificate of liability insurance
• The certificate of liability insurance is required to have a 30-day notice of cancelation
3. Bids are to be dropped off or mailed to Otsego County, 225 W. Main Street, Gaylord, MI 49735. Bids must be sealed and have "Attention County Administrator: BID 2026-06 GROEN HARVEST" marked on the outside of the envelope.
4. Bids need to be received by April 16, 2026 no later than noon.5. Bids will be opened at 1:00 p.m. on April 16, 2026. All participants will be notified by phone as to the results directly after review of bids.
6. The Louis M. Groen Preserve reserves the right to accept, reject or negotiate any or all bids, to waive or not waive informalities or irregularities in the bids or bid procedures, and to accept any bid determined by the Preserve to be in the best interest of the Preserve, regardless of price.
