LOUIS M. GROEN NATURE PRESERVE
BID TO PLANT CONIFER SEEDLINGS
1. Replant approximately 27 acres of conifer Red pine, white pine, approximately 18 to 25 inch tall seedling to cover approximately 27 acres for the purpose replanting due to ice storm damage. All conifers must be native to Michigan. Must have an on-site visit for qualified bids. All bidder will

2. Insurance requirements are as follows:
Contractor shall furnish a Certificate of Insurance from an insurance company licensed to do business in the State of Michigan and acceptable to the County for the following:
a. Workers Compensation and Employers' Liability, Michigan Statutory Limits of Liability
b. Commercial General Liability Insurance
c. Motor Vehicle Liability Coverage and Michigan No-Fault Coverages including all owned, non-owned, and hired vehicles
"Otsego County, its departments, boards, agencies, commissions, officers and employees "will be named as Additional Insured on all insurance coverage, with the exception of Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability insurance.
Limits of Liability for General Liability and Vehicle Liability shall be within the following guidelines based on the contract amount:
• Projects up to $750,000: Minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate
• A Waiver of Subrogation is required on the certificate of liability insurance
• The certificate of liability insurance is required to have a 30-day notice of cancelation
3. Bids are to be dropped off or mailed to Otsego County, 225 W. Main Street, Ste. 203, Gaylord, MI 49735. Bids must be sealed and have "Attention County Administrator: BID 2026-13 "Groen Conifer Plantings" marked on the outside of the envelope.
4. Bids need to be received by August 3, 2026 no later than noon.
5. Bids will be opened at 1:00 p.m. on August 3, 2026 at 225 W. Main St., Room 100, Gaylord, MI 49735. All participants will be notified by phone as to the results directly after review of bids.
6. The Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve reserves the right to accept, reject or negotiate any or all bids, to waive or not waive informalities or irregularities in the bids or bid procedures, and to accept any bid determined by the Preserve to be in the best interest of the Preserve, regardless of price.
