Ordinance No. 434 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF ADEL, IOWA, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 92 – WATER RATES NOW, THEREFORE, be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Adel, Iowa, that: SECTION 1. Section 92.02 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Adel is repealed and amended as follows: 92.02 RATES FOR SERVICE. Water service shall be furnished at the following monthly rates within the City: (Code of Iowa, Sec. 384.84) Gallons Used Per Month - Rate Beginning July 1, 2026 (3.5% increase) First 2,000 gallons $37.66 flat rate > 2,000 gallons $18.83 per 1,000 gallons SECTION 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective from and after the 1st day of July, 2026. SECTION 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance be held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision, and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereof. SECTION 4. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
