PORTAGE PARK DISTRICT Towner's Woods Switch Tower Roof Extension NOTICE TO BIDDERS The Portage Park District will receive sealed bids for the above-mentioned project through the Bid Express® service at https://www.infotechinc.com/bidexpress/ Project Description: The project consists of restoring the roof of the Brady Interlocking Railroad Switch Tower, in Towner's Woods Park, to its historic dimensions. Work consists of removing existing soffit and roofing material, then extending rafters, decking and tongue & groove soffit material 3' to their historic dimensions and installing new metal roofing, gutters and downspouts. Opinion of probable cost: $70,000 A Bid Book and all bid instructions, drawings, specifications, prevailing wage rates, and bid forms will be available online through Bid Express. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 PM Local Time on Thursday February 12, 2026, at which time bidding will be closed and a bid tab will be available through Bid Express. Each bidder shall be required to complete and file with his/her bid a Proposal Guaranty and Performance/Payment Bond Form (Section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code) with a Surety Company executing the Bond, which is listed on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and authorized to transact business in the State where the project is based. If the bid is accepted, the successful bidder shall enter into a contract and the Proposal Guaranty and Performance/Payment Bond shall provide the conditions in said bond, and as listed below: (A) A Contract Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the estimated cost of the work conditioned, among other things that the Contractor will perform the work upon the terms proposed, within the time prescribed, in accordance with the plans and specifications. (B) A Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the estimated cost of the work conditioned for the payment by the Contractor and all Sub-contractors for labor performed and materials furnished in connection with the project involved. The Portage Park District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in bidding. Bids of Corporations not chartered in Ohio must be accompanied by proper certification that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio. This Contract is subject to the provisions of Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965, as pertains to an Affirmative Action Plan, and Governor Executive Order of January 27, 1972.
