PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Section 5311 (ADTAP), 5310, 5339, 5307 and applicable State funding, or combination thereof. This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the proposed Mayland Community College Foundation Community Transportation Program Application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than 10/3/25. The public hearing will be held on 9/19/25 at 12:30PM in Room PG04 of the Phillips Building on Mayland's Spruce Pine Campus before the (governing board) Mayland Community College Foundation Board of Directors. Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing either auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact Steve Gunter on or before 12:00PM on 9/12/25, at telephone number 828-766-1320 or via email at sgunter@mayland.edu. The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Avery, Mitchell and Yancey Counties as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area. These services are currently provided using public transportation services. Services are rendered by Avery, Mitchell and Yancey County Transportation Authorities. The total estimated amount requested for the period July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. NOTE: Local share amount is subject to State funding availability.
