PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The Hopewell City Council will conduct a public hearing at a meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 300 North Main Street, Hopewell, Virginia 23860, for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the following request in accordance with Article XXI Amendments, of the Hopewell Zoning Ordinance and the Code of Virginia 15.2-2285.
A request submitted by the Historic Hopewell Foundation for a Conditional Use Permit to operate a museum on the lot identified as Parcel #061-0232, also identified as 630 N. 21st Street.
A request from the City of Hopewell to amend Zoning Ordinance Article XVIII.F (Signs) to revise the regulations for signs in the B-2, B-3, and B-4 zoning districts, monument-style freestanding signs and window signs in all zoning districts, and to amend Article IX-A to modify the sign requirements for the B-1 zoning district.
A request from the City of Hopewell to amend Articles I, IX-A, X, XI, XI-A, XII, XIII, and XVIII to add Urban Agriculture definitions, uses, and performance standards in certain specified business and industrial zoning districts.
