PUBLIC NOTICE FILING OF PERMIT APPLICATION In accordance with the provision of Act No. 81-435 of the State of Alabama and the regulations promulgated under this act, Southland Resources, Inc., P.O. Box 770 , Cottondale, AL 35453 is filing a permit revision application, R-6, to its Camp Cherry Austin Mine, P-4000, a surface coal mine. Nature of Proposed Revision R-6: 1) Transfer 14 mining acres from Increment No. 2 to Increment No. 1. 2) Transfer 2 incidental acres (Basin 021 and Access) from Increment No. 7 to Increment No. 1. 3) Modify the General Plan to delete Sediment Basin 002 and to modify the Sediment Basin 013 Phase 2 Design Plans. 4) Request an exemption on 3 acres in accordance with ASMC Regulation 880-X-10D-.13(3). 5) Delete Primary Road No. 5. No acreage change. 6) Change the Post Mining Land Use of all areas designated as Forest to Undeveloped/No Current Use. Change the Post Mining Land Use of Basins 001, 013, 017, and 021 to Permanent Water Impoundment (Fish and Wildlife Habitat). Access to the mine is as follows: From the intersection of Alabama State Hwy. 216 and Rocky Branch Recreational Road, travel north on Rocky Branch Recreational Road approximately 0.2 miles to the entrance of the mine. The mine entrance will be marked and signs will be posted. The description of the property within the proposed permit application is as follows: NE/NE & SE/NE of Section 32, NW/NE, SW/NE, NW/SE, NE/NW, SE/NW, NE/SW, NW/NW & SW/NW of Section 33, Township 20 South, Range 8 West, all in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. A copy of the permit application is available for public inspection and review on the Alabama Surface Mining Commission website http://surface-mining.alabama.gov/PermitApplications. A copy of the permit application is also available for public inspection and review at the office of the Alabama Surface Mining Commission located on the second floor of the Pinnacle Bank Building at 1811 2nd Avenue, Jasper, Alabama 35501. Written comments, objections, request for public hearing or request for informal conferences concerning this permit should be sent to the Alabama Surface Mining Commission, P.O.
