Housing Authority of the City of Perth Amboy (HAPA)
The Housing Authority of the City of Perth Amboy (HAPA) will accept online pre-applications for its Hansen and Dunlap Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) developments' waiting lists starting 9:00 AM, Monday, April 20, 2026, and ending at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Pre-applications will be available on-line only at www.perthamboyha.org.
Below are the annual income limits for program participation (2025):
Family Size and maximum income amount: 1 Person $53,700; 2 Persons $61,400; 3 Persons $69,050; 4 Persons $76,700; 5 Persons $82,850; 6 Persons $89,000; 7 Persons $95,150; 8 Persons $101,250.
Hansen RAD PBV: For seniors (62+) and persons with disabilities only. Waiting lists will open for studio (0-bedroom) and 1-bedroom units. HAPA will accept up to 75 pre-applications for each waiting list. If necessary, applicants will be selected via a lottery which will be processed electronically through the Authority's software program. The order of the waiting list will be determined by lottery and preference points.
Dunlap RAD PBV: For families qualifying for 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-bedroom units. HAPA will accept up to 300 pre-applications (maximum 75 per unit size). If necessary, applicants will be selected via a lottery which will be processed electronically through the Authority's software program. The order of the waiting list will be determined by lottery and preference points. For building locations, visit: www.perthamboyha.org
Please note that the waiting list period may close at the time the maximum acceptable pre-applications is received, which may be prior to the closing date listed above.
