PUBLIC NOTICE OF STORM WATER DISCHARGE
Merle Dean Brendeland, Janis Brendeland, Megan Russell plans to submit a Notice of Intent to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to be covered under the NPDES General Permit No. 2 "Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity for Construction Activities". The stormwater discharge will be from site grading associated with the construction of a new cold storage facility. Soil disturbing activities will include the following: Topsoil strip, mass site grading, pond grading, utilities installation, building foundations, paving, and landscaping. located in The project is located within the city limits of Huxley, Iowa and more specifically within the SE¼ of the NW¼ of Section 31Township 82 North, Range 23 West in Story County, Iowa.. Storm water will be discharged from The proposed project will construct new on-site storm sewers and a detention pond to serve the development. Under the proposed conditions, peak stormwater runoff flows will be reduced compared to existing conditions. Runoff from the site will be collected by the new storm sewer system and conveyed to the proposed detention pond. The pond will outlet at the northeast corner of the property, discharging to the existing drainage ditch and through the culvert under I 35 before continuing east toward the South Skunk River. point source(s) and will be discharged to the following streams: South Skunk River.
Comments may be submitted to the Storm Water Discharge Coordinator, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, 502 E. 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50319-0034. The public may review the Notice of Intent from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the above address after it has been received by the department.
