PUBLIC NOTICE OF STORM WATER DISCHARGE
City of Altoona, Iowa plans to submit a Notice of Intent to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to be covered under the NPDES General Permit No. 2 "Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity for Construction Activities". The stormwater discharge will be from Well #5 Raw Water Transmission Main and NE 80th St. Water Transmission Main consists of 10.0 acres of Limited Industrial and Agricultural development ground. Construction activities will be associated with industrial development and civil improvements. Soil disturbing activities include clearing and grubbing, existing site removals, grading, construction of staging area and construction entrances/exit, excavation of utilities, and installation of erosion and sediment controls located in SE 1/4-S07, SW 1/4-S08, NW 1/4-S17, SE & NE 1/4-S18, Township 79 North, Range 22 West, Polk County
. Storm water will be discharged from 1 point source(s) and will be discharged to the following streams: Mud Creek.
Comments may be submitted to the Storm Water Discharge Coordinator, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, 502 E. 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50319-0034. The public may review the Notice of Intent from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the above address after it has been received by the department.
