PUBLIC NOTICE
Please take notice that Kevin and Donna Van Osten ("Applicants") have filed an application for development with the Borough of Collingswood Planning Board of Adjustment ("Board") regarding real property located at 223 Harvard Avenue and designated as block 19.03, lot 29 on the municipal tax map. The property is located in the SF-D2 zoning district and is currently improved with a two-story single-family dwelling, detached garage and associated improvements. The Applicants seek conditional use and bulk variance approval to construct an in-ground pool in their backyard. The Applicants also propose to remove certain impervious surfaces in order to offset the increase in impervious coverage from the proposed pool.
The Applicants seek the following variance under the municipal land use ordinance:
1. Section 141-45(C): accessory buildings shall not exceed 500 sf in floor area. The proposed in-ground pool is 508.4 sf.
The Applicants also request any additional variances, submission waivers, additional exceptions, design waivers, de minimis exceptions, interpretations, modifications of conditions of prior approvals, continuation of any preexisting non-conforming conditions, conditional use approval, other approvals reflected on the plans (as same may be further amended or revised from time to time without further notice) as may be determined to be necessary during the review and processing of the application by the Board and its professional staff, and permits requested or required by the Board at the public hearing.
This application shall be considered by the Board at a public hearing on March 9, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in-person at the Borough of Collingswood, Community Center, 30 W. Collings Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey, at which time you may appear either in person or through an attorney and present any objection that you may have to the granting of this application. A copy of the application and supporting documentation is on file in the Board's office in the Borough of Collingswood, Community Center, 30 W. Collings Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey and is available for public inspection during regular business hours.
