PUBLIC NOTICE Commonwealth of Massachusetts Land Court Department Trial Court BARNSTABLE, SS. CASE NO. 25 MISC 000316 (MDV) Richard D. Harrington v. Unknown Heirs, Devisees or Successors of Obed Shiverick TO: Obed Shiverick, deceased, formerly of Barnstable County, Massachusetts, and his unknown heirs, assigns, devisees or legal representatives: The Plaintiff(s) has/have filed a Complaint with the Land Court in which you are named as an interested party. This Complaint may be examined at said Court or online at www.masscourts.org. The Complaint concerns about three-fourths of an acre lying to the northeast of a certain parcel of land in Dennis, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, being known as and numbered 37A Run Pond Road, shown as Parcel 69 on Map 282 in said Assessor's Office records. The plaintiff contends that he has occupied the land openly, notoriously, and adversely for a period of more than twenty (20) years. Plaintiff seeks a judgment declaring that he holds title to the land free and clear of any claims of the defendants, the plaintiff having established title by adverse possession, and for such other relief deemed just. If you intend to make any defense, you are required to file an answer with the Land Court on or before the return day, April 20, 2026, and serve a copy upon the plaintiff, Richard D. Harrington, whose address is 37 Run Pond Road, Dennis, MA 02638. If you fail to do so, judgment by default may be taken against you for relief demanded in the complaint. It is ORDERED that notice be given by publishing a copy of this notice once in The Cape Cod Times, a newspaper of general circulation in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at least thirty days before the return day, April 20, 2026.
