CITY OF EAST ORANGE
PLANNING BOARD
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Spylen Benefit, Inc. (the "Applicant") has submitted an application PBA-10-25-0033 to the City of East Orange Planning Board (the "Board") for preliminary and final major site plan approval with respect to property located at 275 Central Avenue, East Orange, New Jersey (the "Property"). The Property is identified as Block 420, Lot 9.02 on the official tax map of the City of East Orange and is located in the City's C-1 Zoning District.
The Applicant is seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval from the Board to renovate the existing Wendy's Restaurant on the Property. Applicant proposes to remove an approximately 246 s.f. greenhouse adjoining the restaurant dining room at the front of the building, and construct a building addition of approximately 406 s.f. at the rear of the restaurant for a walk-in freezer. The Applicant also proposes to refresh the exterior of the restaurant, including the installation of a double drive-thru lane and bike pad. Additional improvements to landscaping, signage, menu boards, parking, and striping are also proposed.
In addition to the above approvals, the Applicant requests that the application be deemed amended to include, and that the Board grant, any additional approvals, variances, exceptions, or waivers determined to be necessary or desirable in the review and processing of this application, whether requested by the Applicant, the Board or otherwise.
A virtual public hearing on said application will be held on April 1, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. via weblink, at which time any interested party may appear, if they so desire, either in person or by attorney and ask questions, cross examine witnesses and present testimony and any comments they may have with respect to this application.
