PUBLIC NOTICE
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA will conduct a Public Hearing pursuant to §1003.42(1)(b), Florida Statutes, Required Instruction, to consider approval of recommended instructional materials for the following Secondary Science and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses taught in Okaloosa County Schools that include related standards:
Middle Grades Life Science
Biology 1
Anatomy and Physiology
CTE: Medical Skills and Services
CTE: Health Science Anatomy and Physiology
CTE: Allied Health Assistant 3
CTE: Emergency Medical Responder 3
CTE: Medical Interventions
CTE: Practical Nursing

Printed copies of the materials being proposed for approval are available in the Office of Curriculum and Instruction located at the School District's Central Administration Complex, located at 202A Highway 85 North, Niceville, Florida. The public may make appointments to review these instructional materials by contacting Tami Ellis at (850) 833-4122 or Tami.Ellis@okaloosaschools.com.
The Public Hearing will be conducted during the School Board's regular meeting on August 24, 2026, at 5:15 p.m., or soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. The meeting will be conducted at the School District's Central Administration Complex located at 202A Highway 85 North, Niceville, Florida, in the Boardroom. This meeting is open to the press and public. Those members of the public wishing to comment on the instructional materials recommended for adoption may appear at the Public Hearing and will be heard.
Any interested party who decides to appeal any decision made by the Okaloosa County School Board with respect to any matter considered during this meeting, will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. This notice does not constitute consent by the School Board for the introduction or admission of otherwise inadmissible or irrelevant evidence, nor does it authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law.
