PUBLIC NOTICE
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from Schoolcraft College to construct Rebuilding the Trades, a training center in Livonia, Wayne County, Michigan for the purpose of construction trades training and education. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, EDA is conducting an environmental assessment (EA) of the proposed project.
The project, Rebuilding the Trades: A Construction-Postsecondary Partnership for Building a Resilient Economy in Southeast Michigan, will be located at Schoolcraft College 18600 Haggerty Road, Livonia Michigan 48152. The purpose of the project is to strengthen the region's construction workforce by expanding critical infrastructure capacity and preparing participants for careers with livable wages that support long-term economic resilience and disaster recovery. Through a partnership with the College, apprentices and journeyworkers will also have access to college and prior learning credits, creating pathways to advanced
education and career growth in fields such as construction management.
