PUBLIC NOTICE
THE NEVADA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD INVITES THE PUBLIC TO LEARN ABOUT AND PROVIDE INPUT ON ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATION AND CLEANUP ACTIVITIES AT RENO ARMY AVIATION SUPPORT FACILITY, NEVADA
20000 ARMY AVIATION DRIVE, RENO, NEVADA 73051
The Nevada Army National Guard is conducting an environmental investigation for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at the Reno Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) in Reno, Nevada. An Administrative Record has been initiated in support of these investigation activities. The Administrative Record is a file maintained by the Army National Guard (ARNG) which will include selected technical reports, fact sheets, general information, and other relevant documents used to make decisions throughout the response action. To ensure information about the PFAS work at Reno AASF is available to interested citizens, the ARNG will maintain these records at the following locations:
National Guard Bureau, 111 S George Mason Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22204.
Truckee Meadows Community College Library, Dandini Campus, 7000 Dandini Boulevard, LIB 114, Reno, Nevada 89512, (775) 674-7600. Records at the library can be made available upon request. Further information will be available at the library.
The ARNG is also soliciting public interest in establishing a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) for PFAS environmental investigation activities at Reno AASF.
What is a RAB?
A RAB is a community group which meets to discuss and receive information on environmental restoration (cleanup of contamination) projects at a military facility.
What does a RAB do?
A RAB enables local community members interested in environmental cleanup to receive and exchange information with the facility and regulatory agencies managing environmental cleanup projects at Reno AASF. At meetings, RAB members and the public can receive updates and ask questions on the status of the environmental cleanup program at Reno AASF.
Although a RAB is not a decision-making group, a RAB does give local community members the opportunity to have their voices heard and to provide valuable community insight to the facility and regulatory agencies.
Are you interested in participating in a RAB for Reno AASF?
If you are interested in learning more about Reno AASF environmental restoration projects and having the opportunity to give your input to ARNG and regulatory agencies on their management of cleanup projects at Reno AASF, either as a RAB member or by attending RAB meetings, please contact Captain Emerson Marcus (contact information below) by July 31, 2026.
