Munitions Response Site Prioritization Protocol (MRSPP)
For Dry Canyon Artillery Range (J09CA0348), Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS)
Project 01, Former Artillery Range
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers updated the application of the Munitions Response Site Prioritization Protocols for the Dry Canyon Artillery Range, Project 01 Munitions Response Site (MRS). The U.S. Army used Dry Canyon Artillery Range as an artillery training range from 1942 until 1945. After Dry Canyon Artillery Range was closed, the property was transferred to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Dry Canyon Artillery Range, Project 01 is a former military installation reviewed under the Department of Defense's Munitions Response Site Prioritization Protocol (referred to as the Protocol). The Protocol is the methodology developed by DoD to assign a relative priority to defense sites known or suspected of containing unexploded ordnance, discarded military munitions, or munitions constituents. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers offers all stakeholders opportunities to participate throughout the Protocol's application.
The Protocol worksheets for Dry Canyon Artillery Range, Project 01 are available for public review on the Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District website at www.spl.usace.army.mil/Media/Public-Notices.aspx for 30 days.
