Proposed Mescalero Apache Tribe-State Land Office Exchange
The New Mexico State Land Office and Mescalero Apache Tribe will host a public meeting regarding updates to a proposed land exchange in which the Tribe would receive certain ancestral lands west of Las Cruces that are currently state trust lands, and the State Land Office would receive lands of equal value in return. The proposed parcel is about one mile from the nearest residential neighborhood and is largely surrounded by undeveloped land.
