Proposed Salaries of Elected Officials in Irion Co. for the 2026-2027 Budget Year:
Irion County is proposing a 3.5% cost of living increase in the budgeted amounts for all employees and elected officials in the 2026-27 budget, which begins on October 1, 2026. Also, in accordance with county policy, some county employees and the county attorney will receive a longevity increase of $600. Elected Official Salary increases: County/District Clerk: $65,229 (increase of $2,206); Justice of the Peace: $65,229 (increase of $2,206); Tax Assessor-Collector: $65,229 (increase of $2,206); Treasurer: $65,229 (increase of $2,206); Commissioner Pct. 1: $41,369 (increase of $1,399); Commissioner Pct. 2: $41,369 (increase of $1,399); Commissioner Pct. 3: $41,369 (increase of $1,399); Commissioner Pct. 4: $41,369 (increase of $1,399); County Attorney: $65,229 (increase of $2,206), plus state supplement of approx. $36,000 (to be determined by comptroller); County Judge: $65,229 (increase of $2,206), plus state supplement of $34,650: Sheriff: $72,792 (increase of $2,462) plus State Law Enforcement Grant of $6,920.
