BID OPENING: Bid wills be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:00PM (local time) at Shiel Sexton's office. Bids received by mail or other carrier must be addressed to Shiel Sexton-c/o Indiana State Fair Free Stage and Storage Building and received on or before 1:00PM October 15th, to be valid. Bids received after 1PM (local time) will be returned unopened.
Contract Type: All work for the complete construction of the project will be under multiple prime contracts with the construction managaer as contractor, "Shiel Sexton" - based on bids received from the prequalified tier 1 bidders. Award of contracts will be in accordance with Indiana Public Bidding Laws.
DECRIPTION: The free stage project will include the demolition of existing and construction of a new Free Stage at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, including but not limited to sitework, steel, electrical, painting, paving, and landscaping. The storage building will include construction of a new storage building with associated site improvements. The scope includes but is not limited to sitework, PEMB, plumbing/HVAC, framing, painting, electrical, and fire protection.

PRE-BID: A pre-bid meeting for interested parties will be held on October 1st at 1pm at 1202 East 38th Street, Indiananapolis, IN 26204 (Project site, gate 4 SSC trailer) to discuss key bidding requirements and answer questions regarding bid documents.
BID SECURITY: A bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the instruction to bidders. Should a successful bidder withdraw his bid or fail to execute a satisfactory contract by providing payment and performance bonds, certificate(s) of insurance, subcontractor and materials listing and any other required documents within the required time periods after notice of acceptance of this bid, the cmc may declare the bids as non-responsive and declare the bid security forfeited as liquidated damages, not a penalty.
BONDS: A performance bond and payments bond in the amount of (100%) of the contract amount will be required of the successful bidder prior to execution of contracts. Bidders will provide a cost for these bonds on the bid form.
The Indiana State Fair Commission, Schmidt Associates, and Shiel Sexton are all committed to ensuring the utilization of diverse suppliers on this construction project.
