Public Involvement Notice

Public Involvement Notice Project ID: 6967-00-08 Town of Port Edwards, 1st Street East Branch Cranberry Creek, P-71-0916 Wood County Wood County, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), is proposing to replace the Cranberry Creek Bridge along County Line Road, located approximately 6.3 miles west of the intersection of County Line Road and County G, in the Town of Port Edwards, Wood County, Wisconsin. The proposed project would involve removing and replacing the existing bridge, reconstructing the approaches on either side of the bridge, and placing riprap around the abutments. The project area would be closed during construction. No detours would be posted as alternate routes are available. Access would be maintained for adjacent properties and emergency vehicles. There are no real estate needs anticipated for the project. Construction is anticipated for the summer of 2027. No Section 4(f) or 6(f) impacts are anticipated. Informational materials detailing the proposed project will be available on the Wood County and Town of Port Edwards websites from July 8 – August 8, 2026. The objective of this Public Outreach is to provide adjacent property owners, interested citizens, and public officials with an opportunity to comment on the design for this project. The public is encouraged to view the project information at the webpage below and submit any comments or concerns they may have. Comments may be submitted until August 8, 2026. A paper copy of the materials can be provided upon request for those who cannot access the information online. Those who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, have low vision, or are speech disabled can use the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay System (WTRS).
