Public Notice Kenyon Shale Quarry Pursuant to the "Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act" and the "Clean Streams Law" notice is hereby given that Timothy B Kenyon Jr. has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP) for a permit to conduct noncoal surface mining activities in Manchester Township, Wayne County. The application includes a request for an individual NPDES permit, however no discharge points are proposed. The proposed permit area is 5.7 acres and is situated approximately 0.75 miles off of State Route 1018 on Duran Road. The receiving stream for this proposed permit area is a tributary to Little Equinunk Creek, HQ-CWF, MF, though no discharge shall occur. The Long Eddy Pa., U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute topographic map contains the area described. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Manchester Township Building, 3881 Hancock Highway, Equinunk, PA 18417. Written comments, objections, or a request for an informal conference or public hearing may be submitted to the PaDEP, Pottsville District Mining Office, 5 West Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, PA. 17901 by February 12, 2026, and must include the person's name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
