The Alloway Creek Watershed Wetland Restoration Site in Elsinboro and Lower Alloway Creek Townships, Salem Co., NJ; and the Cohansey River Watershed Wetland Restoration Site in Hopewell and Fairfield Townships, Cumberland Co., NJ may be treated for control of invasive Phragmites australis (Common Reed). Application of one or more of the following herbicides may be made by ground or boat equipment between September 8 – September 30, 2025: Aquaneat (glyphosate) EPA 228-365; Aquapro (glyphosate) EPA 62719-324-67690; Aquamaster (glyphosate) EPA 524-343. The Alloway Creek Watershed Wetland Restoration Site treatment area is bounded to the south by Front St. and Poplar St.; to the east by the Salem-Hancocks Bridge Rd; to the north by the Fort Elfsborg-Hancocks Bridge Rd; and to the west by the Delaware River. The Cohansey River Watershed Wetland Restoration Site is bounded to the south by Back Neck Rd; to the east by River Rd; to the north by Shepphards Mill Rd and to the west by Cemetery Rd.
The work will be conducted by TIGRIS Aquatic Services, NJ# 92172A; 1 Shielding Way, Delaware Water Gap, PA 18327, RCA Robert Schindler NJDEP Cert #50684B. Upon request, the pesticide applicator or applicator business shall provide a resident with notification at least 12 hours prior to the application, except for Quarantine and Disease Vector Control only, when conditions necessitate pesticide applications sooner than that time.
