Please take notice that Heather Brown-Huston and Stephen Huston have made an application to the Mahwah Board of Adjustment and the hearing will be held on the 5th day of November, 2025, at 7:30 pm at Mahwah Municipal Building, 475 Corporate Drive, Township of Mahwah, in the Honorable Anthony Gianni Jr. Courtroom Chambers. The Township Website (www.mahwahtwp.org) can be checked 24 hours in advance of the meeting for any changes.
The application is in regard to the property at 198 Mahwah Road, Mahwah, NJ, Block 98, Lot 1. The project includes plans for permits for a dormer expansion on the second floor, and interior changes. This application includes a variance request for construction of a front door porch and steps facing the addressed street (Mahwah Rd), this front door portico and steps will extend several feet into the 30 foot setback from Mahwah Rd, within the existing non-conforming setback. The granting of this adjustment would rectify the complete absence in the home of any door which faces the addressed street (Mahwah Rd). The granting of this request regarding the front door porch and steps would permit guests, delivery services and most importantly, first responders, to locate the house in a timely and safe fashion.
In addition to the foregoing, the applicant will also seek any and all other variances, waivers, deviations, or exceptions the Board deems to be required.
