Public Notice Notice is hereby given that the Staunton Police Department will destroy certain firearms that are in its possession on April 1, 2026, pursuant to Code of Virginia § 15.2-1721. These firearms came into the possession of the Staunton Police Department between August 1994 and February 2025. The firearms include, but are not limited to, the following makes: Rifle Mauser, Crossman, FEG, Jennings, YP Pellet, Powerline, Remington, JC Higgins, Beretta, Phoenix Arms, Llama, Smith & Wesson, Kimel, Lorcin, U.S. Springfield, Rohm, Ruger, Winchester, AFSA, Accu Tek, Davis Ind, Tanfoglio, HW, H&R, Lithgow, Davis Industries, Titan, MAB, AMT, Glock, Raven Arms, CCI, Arcus, Volunteer Arms, Taurus, One Titan, Automatic Arms, Highpoint, Keltec, Cobra, New England, F&B, Husqvvarna, Essex, Marlin, Crossman, Darenger, Siver Eagle, Glock, and Colt. Any person having a legal interest in such firearms may contact the Staunton Police Department prior to the date of destruction to determine whether they are entitled to claim lawful possession, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
