Public Notice Notice is hereby given that on May 26, 2026, the Southern Monroe Water Authority, under and pursuant to the Public Service Commission Act, as amended, and the rules of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission at 170 IAC 1-6-1 et seq., filed with the Commission a request for approval to increase its nonrecurring tap charge for a standard 5/8" residential meter service. The Authority is requesting approval to adjust this charge from $1,029.00 to $2,519.30. The sole purpose of this filing is to update the schedule of rates and charges to accurately reflect the escalating material and labor costs associated with installing new residential utility connections. This filing is permissible under 170 IAC 1-6-3(4) as a noncontroversial administrative filing regarding nonrecurring charges. The Authority anticipates approval of this filing no earlier than thirty (30) days after the date of filing.
