Public Notice for Variance Request in Verona
Take Notice that an application has been made to the Verona Zoning Board of Adjustment by Maureen Hedden for 39 Otsego Road, Verona, Block #803 Lot #4 in zone R-50 (High Density Single-Family). The applicant is seeking permission to provide a second-floor bedroom addition over the existing attached garage. The following variances are requested: 1) As per § 150-17.5 E (2) Minimum side yard setback (one): eight feet; existing on the NW side is 7.2 feet existing and proposed; expansion of a pre-existing non-conforming setback; 2) As per § 150-17.5 E (3) Minimum side yard setbacks (both): 18 feet; existing and proposed is 13.3 feet - expansion of a pre-existing non-conforming setback. The applicant may also seek any such other variances and waivers that may be required, deemed necessary or requested by the Board with this application. The application has been put on the secretary's calendar and a hearing is scheduled to be held on 8/13/2026 at 7:30pm in the Ball Room of the Verona Community Center located at 880 Bloomfield Avenue. At said hearing, or any adjourned date of the same, you may appear either in person or by counsel and present any objection that you may have to the granting of this application. Documents filed by the applicants concerning such application are available for public inspection no later than 10 days prior to the meeting date at the Board office in the Verona Community Center located at 880 Bloomfield Avenue, M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm. The applicant in accordance with the requirements of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law serves this Notice.
