Public Notice of CAFRA Permit Application Take notice that an application for a CAFRA individual permit will be submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Land Resource Protection for the development described below: APPLICANT: City of Asbury Park PROJECT NAME: Phase I Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Project - External Civil Site Work PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Asbury Park is proposing improvements at its Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located at 1700 Kingsley Street, to rehabilitate aging infrastructure and improve operations. While most work will occur within the existing building, the project includes external site improvements such as construction of a new, fully enclosed Screenings Building Extension, driveway reconstruction, and relocation of existing electrical equipment. The project will disturb approximately 5,431 square feet, triggering the need for a Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan. A minor net increase in impervious surface (approximately 1,491 square feet) will result, though the work is largely limited to existing paved or gravel areas. No new parking or linear development is proposed, and the project is not expected to trigger NJDEP stormwater management rules due to limited land disturbance and minimal additions to impervious and motor vehicle surfaces.
