Public Notice of NJDEP Statewide Maintenance Permit Application
Take notice that an application for an NJDEP Statewide Maintenance Permit has been submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Land Resource Protection for the development described below:

PROJECT NAME: New Jersey Department of Transportation Statewide Maintenance
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: NJDOT Operations are prioritizing the repair of failing infrastructure and drainage facilities owned by NJDOT statewide. The comprehensive permit would allow for timely completion of urgent repairs to help mitigate threats to public safety and the environment, prevent emergencies and property damage, protect state infrastructure assets, and reduce the risk of roadway disasters and loss of life. This permit will significantly reduce the number of permit applications required for routine maintenance and repairs in addition to improving the current and future workload management, scheduling, and budget planning. With this application the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is requesting Statewide authorization under:
• Freshwater Wetland General Permit (FWW GP) 1 for maintenance and repair of existing features
• FWW GP 12 for surveying and investigation
• FWW GP 25 for minor channel or stream cleaning for local government agencies
• FWW GP 27 for application of herbicide to control invasive species
• FWW Transition Area Waiver (TAW)
• Hackensack Meadowlands Water Quality Certificate (WQC) for FWW GP1,12, 25, & 27
• Coastal Zone Management General Permit (CZM GP) 23 for geotechnical survey borings
• Waterfront Development Individual Permit (WFD IP) In-Water/Upland
• Hackensack Meadowlands Water Quality Certificate (WQC)
