RHI Magnesita Public Notice of Blasting

RHI Magnesita Public Notice of Blasting Magnesita Refractories Company ("RHI Magnesita"), 425 South Salem Church Road, York, Pennsylvania 17408; located in West Manchester Township, York County, will be conducting blasting. The York Minerals Plant Quarry operation is covered by the Department of Environmental Protection Noncoal Surface Mining Permit No. 4873SM1. Blasting will be conducted in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and will be limited to Monday through Saturday inclusive between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This schedule is currently in effect at the quarry and will continue. Warning signs and pre-blast inspections will control access to the blast area. The audible pre-blast warnings will be two (2) short audible signals of a horn or siren and the "all clear" signal will be one long audible signal. Emergency situations that may require unscheduled detonation include rain, lightning, other adverse weather conditions, mechanical or electrical failures of machinery or vehicle and dangerous conditions for operators or the public. All blasting operations will be performed by licensed blasters in strict accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Mining Reclamation.
