WAITING LIST OPENS FOR
PROJECT-BASED SUBSIDIZED UNITS
APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR PROJECT-BASED SUBSIDIZED UNITS FOR THE FOLLOWING PROPERTY Beginning Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 09:00 am through Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 09:00 am:
Cypress Square Apartments located at: 1672 21st Street, Sarasota, FL 34234 (1, 2, 3, 4BR)
This waitlist opening is specifically for 100 subsidized unit applications in which the rent is based on household income. The units are subsidized through a project-based Section 8 program. Applications for this development can only be completed by going to our website at www.sarasotahousing.org, clicking on applications and then the Applicant Portal.
When applying online, you will need to select the above property to complete the application and at that time, you MUST select bedroom size. Please be advised that you will only be assigned to the bedroom size for which you are qualified. If you apply and you are not qualified for a 2 or 3 BR unit, your application will be marked as ineligible. DUPLICATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE REJECTED SO PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION.
Applicants with disabilities who require reasonable accommodation and are unable to complete the electronic application may request an application in writing – requests must be received by our offices no later than October 23, 2025, at 09:00 am and an application will be mailed to them. COMPLETED PAPER APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY November 5, 2025, at 09:00 am. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
If more than 100 applications are received, SHA will implement a lottery system to select the 100 applications for waiting list.
Once your application is accepted, you can verify your status and update your contact information in the applicant portal at sarasotahousing.org. Please do NOT call to inquire about your application status because no information will be given over the telephone.
