SCDES Public Notice HEIDELBERG MATERIALS SOUTHEAST AGG, LLC - SANDY FLAT QUARRY, 5566 Mountain View Rd, has applied to the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services for a Surface Water Withdrawal Permit, under the Surface Water Withdrawal, Permitting, Use and Reporting Act for one (1) new intake located at approximately N 35.006522084, W 82.338826154 in Greenville County, SC. Heidelberg Materials Southeast AGG LLC has proposed a withdrawal of 22 million gallons per month from the Beaverdam Creek. The water will be used in mining operations. SCDES invites and will receive comments on the application until February 16th, close of business day, 5:00pm EST. Please submit comments to SCDES/Bureau of Water, 2600 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201, Attention: Alex Floyd. If within thirty (30) days of the publication of this public notice the Department receives a request to hold a public hearing from at least twenty (20) citizens or residents of the affected area, the Department will conduct a hearing. Any request for a public hearing shall be made in writing to the office listed above, shall be received by the date listed above and shall include the name and legal address of the person making the request. In order to establish eligibility under the "affected area" provision, the affected area for this project shall be the "Broad River Basin" as defined in R.61-119.F.1.e.xi. Interested parties wishing to be notified of the final permit decision must make comment on the application and make a request to receive notice of the final decision and must provide the SCDES with a correct name and mailing address.
