SECOND NOTICE OF INTENT TO DISCONTINUE BASIC LOCAL EXCHANGE SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS IN CERTAIN AREAS SERVED BY GRANITE TELECOMMUNICATIONS, LLC.
On March 13, 2026, the Federal Communications Commission approved Granite Telecommunications's application to discontinue Basic Local Exchange Service (BLES) in the Acme, Auburn Mi, Harsens Island, Midland Se, New Boston, Willis, Williamsburg, and Wolverine wire centers. Effective on or after June 30, 2026, Granite will stop providing Basic Local Exchange Service in those wire centers, subject to the further state process described below. Granite's alternative voice service available to business customers is EPIK. If you are an existing Granite customer and have any questions or need more information about changes to your local business service and how to order EPIK, please contact your Granite Premier Representative, your Granite Sales Representative, or Granite Customer Service (866-847-5500). Comparable voice services may be offered by AT&T, Charter Communications/Spectrum, Comcast, WOW, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. Affected customers have been notified by first class U.S. Mail. Notice to discontinue service has also been filed with the Michigan Public Service Commission. Customers of Granite impacted by this discontinuance may file comments in Case No. U-22037 to request the MPSC to investigate the availability of comparable voice service with reliable access to 9-1-1 and emergency service. All comments submitted to the Commission in this matter will become public information, posted on the Commission's website and subject to disclosure.
