SHASTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE At its regular meeting of September 23, 2025, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Shasta enacted the following ordinance: Ordinance No. 2025-03 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SHASTA AMENDING CHAPTER 8.10 DEFENSIBLE SPACE FOR FIRE PROTECTION AND PREVENTION OF THE SHASTA COUNTY CODE AYES: Supervisors Crye, Long, Harmon, Plummer, and Kelstrom NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None RECUSE: None SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE: In summary, the ordinance would amend Chapter 8.10 of the Shasta County Code to expand the use of fuel management on urban lands within the Wildland Urban Interface of the County. The ordinance also allows for enforcement of the ordinance as an infraction or misdemeanor. Violations as infractions can incur fines as allowed in California Government Code Section 25132. The ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect thirty days after adoption.
