SHASTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE At its regular meeting of March 24, 2026, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Shasta will consider enacting the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SHASTA ADDING CHAPTER 16.14, ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS, TO THE SHASTA COUNTY CODE In summary, the proposed ordinance would add Chapter 16.14 – Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to Shasta County Code Title 16 – Buildings and Construction in response to California Government Code Sections 65850.7 and 65850.71 which require the adoption of a local ordinance to streamline permitting for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS), including provisions that require ministerial approval, limited review, and expedited approval of EVCS projects. The proposed ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect 30 days after its passage on March 24, 2026.
